Don't worry. Yesterday I ran into two walls and a counter at work and I have a gigantic bruise on hip. Then his morning I slipped on ice while carrying a giant pan of pastries and fell flat on my back in front of some guests. It was fun. Or maybe just funny.

I'm going to be a better blogger now, I might promise. Also, I'll be updating my shop soon!

Even with finals approaching next week I am making sure to draw things that are not for my classes, because if I only do school work I WILL go crazy for sure. And that is something that cannot happen because I have worked so hard all semester!

the other day i was in the printmaking studio for ten hours! it was so much fun. it's my favorite place to be! i made about 28 of these little trace monoprints on pages from a Poe poetry book i had lying around. i hope he isn't angry that i disgraced his deep dark pages with little spontaneous drawings. of all writers, he is the one i would be the most afraid of--i mean, who wants to be the subject of a short story in where they are chopped up and buried under floor boards? not me. so this is my formal apology to Poe as well as my description of what is seen above. it is the front and back of the print. that's it. now i must go to sleep or i will surely be late for figure drawing in the morning.

So, I've been thinking about making a facebook page for my art. I thought about it a while ago and decided no--and I'm glad I did. But now I am thinking about it again. Everyone keeps telling me YOU NEED A FACEBOOK PAGE if you want to succeed--or something like that? I don't know if it's true, and I feel a little dumb(?) making one--like I'm shoving my things in people's internet faces and saying "LOOK AT THIS RIGHT NOW"! I don't know. I feel weird about it but I can always delete it I guess.

I never post here anymore. But I feel bad neglecting this blog since I have had it for soooooo long. So I am updating it with a scary story and two of my newest monoprints. (There's a third on my website, and I'll be posting more this upcoming week)

The story deals with my hatred toward the freeway (construction) and men who make up for their insecurities with big fake pride and big wasteful trucks. I was driving home the other night and because of the freeway construction (which is completely ridiculous since they make every car merge into one lane over a series of 5-10 miles for a 50 meter stretch that they aren't even working on--but patrolling) my 30 minute commute turned into triple that. After all this merging and slowly driving 10 miles an hour for miles, the construction eases up, and there is more than one lane to drive in. Anyway, I passed one of these big wasteful trucks, which apparently hurt his big fake man pride, so he decides to harass me for the rest of the drive i have left. He would slow down and then zoom up next to me, swerve into my lane, and pretend to hit me. He continued to do this ever two or three minutes for about 25 minutes. Even if I slowed to 40 mph, he would still slow down less than me, and then zoom. It was seriously terrifying. It was almost 2 in the morning, I was alone, and there were not many cars on the road. I felt fearful for my life. It was scary. Even when I got off my exit, I thought he was going to follow me home. I am never driving home that late again. Not on the freeway. Not alone.

Anyway, here are my monoprints. They are so much more difficult than I was expecting. I have no time for anything anymore--between my printmaking, history, and figure drawing classes, I feel like I barely have time to sleep at night. Even when I sleep I am dreaming about my schoolwork. It is a curse. So even sleeping makes me tired. One of my professors told me yesterday that it just gets harder when you graduate. That scared me. I would like a little bit of time to relax, I WOULD REALLY LIKE A VACATION! I don't have any time--not even to work on my BFA project. But I am trying to remain positive!

SO basically, I am the worst at blogging. Sorry. Actually, I'm not sorry. I've been busy! But it's now spring break. And I am in the midst of shooting a stop-motion film. AAAAAND my battery died in my camera, so I figured while I wait I might as well.

This week many life-changing things happened. I applied for the BFA program, I accidentally used the men's restroom (oops), and I decided to never eat chocolate covered cinnamon bears ever again. I'm lactose-intolerant and slightly allergic to cinnamon. What was I thinking?

I've decided to switch projects to the 18"x36" linocut I've been working on. So I don't write too many boring things on here. Also, I'm going to NYC in a week and a half. Any suggestions leave via comment or email! They would be greatly appreciated! I haven't been there in four years.

PS: the strokes new album = kind of a let down (i've only listened to it once though, THERE IS STILL HOPE!)

tonight i got home and my computer decided to play games with me. it didn't just scare me half to death--it scared me the whole way. i think sometime next semester i am going to reinvest.

take a look at my first tin type. it was fuuun. i love the stain on the side. i could have put it back in the fixer to, well, fix it--but i decided to keep it. i love imperfections. also, i'm done for the semester! woooo! now that finals are over, i am bored to death. after school got out i cleaned up my room and made a fort complete with christmas lights and a cosmic lamp. then i took photos with my pinhole camera. what else am i going to do for the next three weeks?

finals week is the worst. good thing i will be done by tomorrow! this has been a stressful semester. it's weird to think that one year from now i will be graduating. i'm scared! but for now i will concentrate on studying photo history and going to bed. it's sleep time. and when i do finish finals tomorrow, i will be building a fort in my room and making snowflakes and lighting candles and listening to christmas records and not doing anything at all but laying. until i tire of it after an hour.

also, sorry about the boring photos lately, i have some films to finish shooting before i can post anything worthwhile!

man! what a stressful thanksgiving! but i got my portfolio to press and all is well! now i have settled down to watch the labrynth and eat some raspberry pie. overall, it's been a good break thus far.

but mostly i've spent my break thinking about decisions. and about how bad i am at making them. and how i constantly question them even after i've made them. and even years later i wonder if what i thought was the right decision was really not quite right and now everything is going to be much different/worse than it would have been.

mostly i just think about how i should stop thinking, though. you know?

i went to this concert alone. i'd never done that before. for one of my classes we are supposed to go on an artist date each week, and last week--this was it. and it was amazing! i had a horrible week, and a terrible day. even something that happened just before the show was the very bad. so bad that i have only been able to tell one person. it mentally exhausts me just thinking about it. anyway, i think peggy sue is much better live, and kate nash was the cutest. it was one of those shows where i stood there wishing i was a lot cooler. kate nash cool. ha.

something weird is happening to me, i think. a few days ago i found a fake bullet on my dresser--i didn't really think anything of it. that night i dreamt of bullets, i don't remember what happened--just that there were bullets. then yesterday i pulled out a lens bag with a lens in it that i haven't opened since i got my 20mm and on top of my lens was a bag of real .22 bullets. weird, right?

i have TMJ. it hurts really bad. i spent the whole weekend on pain pills making cyanotypes. i also went to the 30 seconds to mars/neon trees/new politics concert for the school paper, went backstage and met jared leto. jealous? he looked a lot better in My So-Called Life. i am currently laying in bed with two of my best friends and having a great time!

and it was amazing! we were in the front row for one song, for the rest it was second row. we arrived two hours early and sat in the sweltering heat, but it was worth it! because we were so close! there were 570,000 people there--insane. now my feet are dirty, my back hurts, i smell like sweat, and i have work in six hours. yiiikes. it's time for bed!

oh, and school started yesterday, it's going to be a rough semester--but i am ready for the challenge! today the crazy thing happened during my alternative photo class. i got all this paint on my hands and then my face started itching--really badly. it was turning red, too! it was an allergic reaction of some sort. the nicest boy ever from my class went to the gas station and bought me benadryl and water. i missed my figure class because the medicine made me so drowsy. ohhh school.

anyway, one of these days soon i am going to turn my phone off for a whole day and work on my next zine. it's going to be fantastic. maybe i will do that sunday. anyways, i'm off to bed! it's been a long day and my bed is going to feel great! g'night!

i've been busy, busy, busy! i will probably be more regular at this once school starts up again in approximately 11 days. i haven't even turned my laptop on in the past week and a half. this is what i have been up to lately. camping, food fights (or A food fight), yellowstone, sitting on roofs, and more camping. at the spiral jetty.

i went for a walk tonight and the sky was beautiful! i don't know if it was just because i have hardly been outside in the past week (since I got my tonsils out) or if the sky always looks so beautiful! sorry if this makes no sense, i'm still on medication. which, btw, gave me the most terrible dreams last night. i'm afraid to go to sleep tonight because of how awful they were.

i am bored to death. DEATH! and i'm in pain. PAIN! in the past 6 days i have ran a marathon, gotten 3 blood blisters from said marathon, laid on the couch for 2 days because of how much pain my body was in, gotten 60 mosquito bites, and had my tonsils removed. what the heck was i thinking? although, the marathon was fun. but this tonsil stuff sucks. i was really nervous to get them out. when i went to the hospital yesterday, they had to give me two IV's. because the first one just went into my tissue and it made this huge bubble on my arm and it really freaked me out. and now it's really bruised. it's practically black! and when they started sticking the second IV, i almost started crying out of fright. but right then the anesthesiologist came in and started making fun of all of my mosquito bites. which had been circled in a blue pen, thanks to my google search for "mosquito bite home remedies" the other night. little did he know they had also been covered in dry soap AND toothpaste. also, i forgot to mention that just before going to the hospital, i ran to the grocery store and bought hair dye in sheer panic. now my hair is really dark brown. almost black. and it got all over my hand. so not only did i have pen all over my legs, but dye on my hand. anyway, i was having a panic attack all morning (this was yesterday), until i got to the operating room and they were playing the smiths! i felt a whole lot better that the doctors were listening to the smiths while slicing me up. now all i can eat is nothing solid, and i really want some pizza!

sorry if this makes no sense. i'm on pain killers.

in case you were wondering, i ran my marathon. and it hurt really bad--but not until mile 21. miles 21 - 25 were possibly the most painful thing i have ever experienced. i think i hit the wall. i probably should have really trained for it--next time i will. it was so much fun! it was my favorite weather, i had my ipod, and it was just a lot of fun. plus, i felt so accomplished when i finished! but now i am in an incredible amount of pain. i can hardly walk. i want to cry most of the time. my foot hurts really bad, i think i may have broken a bone in it. but it was worth all of that! enjoy the videos below! they are goooood!

so i am running a marathon in three days, on saturday. i'm terrified. i trained for about two weeks. but i'll be fine--i mean when i ran my half marathon i hadn't ran for 4 months before that. and i ran it in an hour and 40 minutes. so we'll just see what happens. what i am really terrified for is that i have to get my tonsils out the following thursday. that's in 8 days, i believe. and i can't take ibuprofin or anything for a week prior to the surgery. that means i can't take any anti-inflammatory medication after the marathon. yiiiikes! imma be sore. and my body is going to hate hate hate me.

yiiiiikes! my daily tarot reading was completely on. i'm normally a pretty skeptical person but... this time it seems right on track. would you like me to read it for you? alright. alright, it's non right on at all. but the hermit thing--ahh. this week i wrote a 50 page zine with an 8 page mini zine in 30 hours--that is start to finish time, not including the time i spent with my friends during those two nights. my mom told me she wanted me to stop being a hermit. she also told me she didn't want me to become one of those artists that sits in the 4 walls of their bedroom making art, doing drugs, and living in their own reality. ha. but don't worry, the heat in my emotional affairs will come back soon because today i met the most beautiful boy of my entire life. seriously. more attractive than any man i have ever seen. too bad i met him at training for my new job. that is off limits! also, i'm really terrified about my new job. should i start tomorrow? i don't know! we'll see how it goes, i have to run 15 miles. did i mention that i am running a marathon in 3 weeks? i started training yesterday.

g'night. i'm currently on a foreign film kick so imma watch one of those and edit my kaleidoscope movie i took tonight and sleep long.

i almost started my kitchen on fire taking this shot. scary! i'm sort of jealous of my friends who are in school right now. i love having new projects to do, although it's nice just making things that i want to make. i'm currently making cigarette girls 4, heavily concentrating on things like GIRL POWER!

today we got to talk to my brother who is on his mission! he called from the airport, he sounded good. he is on his way to flo-rida right now for the next year and eleven months and one week. seems like an eternity! i also got a package of zines and riot grrrl fliers, and a letter from a friend. i love snail mail. and zine trading and everything that this flier above states, except the drunk parts of course.

Life has been insane lately! I feel like there is no end to being busy. When I lived in Logan and didn't live near my family I feel like I didn't have nearly as many obligations. But now that I am back, it never stops. Yesterday was my last day of spring semester, and my brother left on his mission. It's just beginning to hit me that I won't see him for two years. When we dropped him off, I lost it--which resulted in the same happening to my sisters. But it will be good! He's changed so much in the last little while, I know it's for the best.

Now that school is over, I can make fun art for 4 months. And go camping and do other fun things. I'm quite excited. (except for the BFA illustration summer homework I recently acquired) I'm going to attempt to beef up the illustration aspects of my website a lot and experiment more with film. I'll let you know when I do. For now, I have a new zine brewing in my head and I need to find a job. I'm going to be a better blogger for the next four months, I swear!

i've been absent. sorry about that. i have this thing called tonsillitis. it makes me lay on the couch and writhe in pain and want to commit suicide. it also makes me take a lot of ibuprofen, which isn't proving to work anymore as of today. anyway, i'm obsessed with this song. they're coming with 30 seconds to mars--and i hate 30 seconds to mars but i love jared lito's beautiful face so i will probably attend. i loved his face more pre-eyeliner/my so-called life--but that's okay. maybe he doesn't even wear eyeliner anymore? i don't know.
